The new year has brought some great savings for some of the LTA BG Energy Club members. Ravenscroft Tennis Club saved £1,125, Maidstone LTC saved £6,933, and Steyning Tennis Club saved £5,767.

How is the current market?

Many tennis clubs have taken advantage of recent drops in wholesale energy prices. The below graph shows how electricity has fallen since Aug 22. 

This has meant that many tennis clubs are in a much better position with regards to their energy bills.

How long to secure for?

Many tennis clubs are asking the question “How long should we secure for?”. Now as everyone knows, the energy market is ever changing and hard to predict. However, we study daily market curves and analyse future market prices to advise best practices for the tennis club.

The below indicative market curve for gas shows we are at a low point, with gas prices potentially not returning to the current lows for the next 3 years.

We are advising clubs to secure for a minimum of 2 years, this protects the clubs against a potential higher market next year.
